Jay K. Langsdorf, DMD
Dr. Langsdorf was born and raised right here in Vancouver, Washington. He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1964 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Portland State University. He then attended the University of Oregon Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 1971. Dr. Jay served a dental residency at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. He remained active in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Jay has been an active, practicing dentist in Vancouver since 1974. In 1983, he founded Cascade Dental Group. Today he is an active partner in our Fisher's Landing and Padden dental offices. Dr. Langsdorf practices full service family dentistry, including crowns, restorative dentistry and implants. He is very interested in all new dental technologies.
Dr. Jay is married to his wife, Mary, and has five grown children. He particularly enjoys community activities. In his free time, Dr. Langsdorf enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming, biking and driving his John Deere tractor for garden projects.
Derek J. Michaud, DMD
Dr. Michaud has lived in Vancouver for over 20 years. After graduating from Mt. View High School, he attended Portland State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Since he wanted to keep his growing family in the Northwest, they made O.H.S.U. School of Dentistry his first choice. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Clark County Dental Society, Washington Dental Association and the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Derek has four children, the oldest at Mt. View High School and the youngest starting pre-school. He coaches year-round sports for his children's soccer, basketball and baseball teams. Dr. Derek believes continuing education and compassion are the keys to providing the highest quality of care. He and his team are committed to providing quality and comfort at each patient's visit. He focuses on helping patients fully understand their dental concerns and giving them their options so they can make informed decisions for themselves.
Mark R. Fischer, DMD
Dr. Fischer was born in the San Francisco Bay area of California and grew up in Southern California and Idaho. He attended high school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and went on to receive both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Portland State University. Dr. Mark went on to receive his dental degree (D.M.D.) from the Oregon Health Sciences University in 1985 and completed the PAC-LIVE Cosmetic Dentistry Course in 2001 through Pacific University in San Francisco.
Dr. Mark has been a practicing dentist in the Portland area for over 20 years. He joined the Cascade Dental team in 2001, helping patients in our Cascade Park office. Dr. Fischer enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but is particularly interested in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. He is a volunteer with the Northwest Medical teams, helping disadvantaged patients and disaster survivors both locally and in Mexico for many years.
Dr. Fischer has three grown children and two grandchildren, Sofia and Lucia. He and his wife, Corinn, have two pets, Hank The Fat Cat and Nala The Skinny Cat. In his spare time, Dr. Mark likes sailing, kayaking, travel, music, food and wine.
Gerald J. Papador, DMD
Dr. Papador was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Marquette University in 1972. He proceeded to William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas to complete military duty as a general dentistry resident. Oregon Health and Science University brought Dr. Papador to Portland, Oregon for the periodontal residency program, which he completed in 1977. He then established his private practice in Gresham, Oregon where he provided patient care for the past 30 years. In 2011, Dr. Papador sold his private practice and is concentrating on providing his services to Cascade Dental Group.
Dr. Papador is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for each patient. Continuing education combined with compassionate patient care remains his ongoing focus. Dr. Papador has served as Professor at OHSU Department of Periodontology. He provided undergraduate and advanced education programs to periodontal residents as well as continuing education on the theory and practice of dental implants. Dr. Papador has served as President of the Oregon Dental Society of Anesthesiology and President of the Oregon Society of Periodontists. Dr. Papador is currently serving as President of the Western Society of Periodontology and is a mentor for the WSP Dental Hygiene Periodontal Study Club at Cascade Dental Group.
Dr. Papador is married to his wife, Nancy, and has two grown children. The year 2008 brought his first granddaughter, Lyric, and first grandson, Avery. Dr. Papador has recently relocated from Gresham to live along the Washougal River. He enjoys fishing, golfing, restoring English cars, raising French bulldogs and dining with his wife.
